At thirty, Vadim Dybin lost his vision, and he had to learn to live anew. Martin became the conductor of Vadim in this new old world
Help dog helpers of disabled help helpThe usual world plunged into darkness. To brush your teeth, drink tea, fry the fried eggs or find socks - all that used to be a daily routine turned into an impossible quest. There is nothing to say about the sortie outside the house without outside help. Helplessness and dependence drove Vadim into depression. People who are blind from birth or their vision at an early age are completely different in space. And a person who is blinded by adults has to learn to live literally again. Get used to new tastes of food, new smells and even sounds.
Vadik sang since childhood. Dad took him with him to steam in public baths. In the locker room, where the men rested between the arrivals in the steam room and drank, Vadik climbed onto the banquet and started a song about the drummer. “The song took by the soul. The men drank vodka, listened and cried, ”Vadim laughs. Over time, the repertoire of the young vocalist has changed. Vadim was taken to the choir chapel of Maria Struve. A blonde boy with an angelic appearance turned out to be an excellent discant. Russian Robertino Loretti, the golden voice of Russia, a laureate, a scholarshipist, the owner of a rare natural voice - the Internet stores video recordings and dozens of references to the named after a young vocalist.

Vadim Dyabin was predicted by a great vocal future, they called without exams to the conservatory after graduation. And he burst out. “I was 16 years old. It was necessary to graduate from school, I wanted to have a lot of different things, but all the time I went to singing, tour and concerts. I even had to stay in the school in the second year. I freaked out, sent a teacher and just stopped going to classes. He did not sing for several years at all. A year after school, he fell off with friends. ”
At the urgent request of his mother, he nevertheless opened the reference book for those entering universities, poked, without looking, in some line and hit the MGPU with his finger. For six months I studied at the legal faculty, threw it. He worked there and in a construction site, at the real estate agency, married a girl with whom he sang in the choir, a daughter was born, he almost went to the conservatory in Genoa for the company, but returned and went to work as a system administrator. And he lit up that he was busy with something, he wondered which path to choose, and he answered himself: “Music-definitely not.” Only having lost his vision, Vadim decided to call his teacher Maria Struve. They met. And she said: "With a return."
Martin photo: Anna Ivantsova for TDIt turned out to sing the blind than to learn how to live. Several times a week Vadim travels to rehearsals, performs with a choral chapel and for the first time in his life knows exactly what he wants. A lot of music. And yet - to be independent.
His blindness is a complication of diabetes. Vadim has been living with diabetes since childhood. It is admitted that it is partly to blame for himself, that so launched a health situation. It is difficult to limit yourself when you are a teenager, when you want to walk and have fun with everyone, realizing that Cola with diabetes is a completely bad idea.

In 2015, Vadim survived a difficult divorce. The least at that moment was thinking about the glucometer and insulin. And when I realized, it was too late. Everything was somehow unsuccessful. While collecting documents for the operation, while Vadima pickled the quota in the Research Institute of Eye Diseases for several months, the chance to slow down the process was missed. The right eye is blind. “Well, apparently, it’s not fate,” Vadim said in the clinic. The quota was only one eye for the operation, while operating, problems began with the second. The search for specialists, painful attempts to save the left eye, one unsuccessful operation, then the second. A year and a half ago, the second eye "went out" in five minutes. Vadim spent several months in hospitals, at first thought that it was still possible to change. He suffered a few more operations, but in the end it was possible to save only eyeballs. And the vision has gone total and irreversibly.
Together with Vadim’s visual impairment, a cane was given a tonometer, a speaker and sent a head. When asked what to do next, there was no answer. No instructions, brochures and roadmap. “It was possible, of course, to lie and kill, but this is a senseless activity,” says Vadim.

The beloved girl Vadim Camilla cuts a freshly baked cupcake and tells how they collected information from various sources on the Internet, how they were looking for devices and gadgets that could simplify Vadim's life. And now they want to make a YouTube channel with life hacks for the blind.

Vadim on rehearsals in the center of vocals of Maria Struve photo: Anna Ivantsova for TDCamilla and Vadim have been familiar from childhood. Once we went to one music school together. And after 17 years we met by accident in the choir of spiritual music. The long candy-bouquet period was not satisfied. Both were nasty "divorces". And somehow they quickly realized that they would now be together. And now they have been together for three years - the most difficult time. Camilla for Vadim the main support and support. But he really wants to become independent again. “Previously, you could run where you wanted, but now you can’t go out for bread yourself. You understand this freedom only when you lose it. The world clenched around. And this is the worst thing, ”says Vadim.
When Vadim and Camille found out that a blind person in Russia could get a guide dog for free, they immediately filled out an application on the website of the training and cinological center “Dog-Assistants of the Disabled” and began to wait. Then Vadim called the “Special View” information portal. They offered to take part in the competition - write an article about yourself. The main prize is the opportunity to get a guide dog out of turn. Vadim's story took first place.

And under the supervision of a dog handler, the instructor was chosen for the first walks. To get used to the guide dog is not as easy as it seemed in theory. Before meeting with the future owner, the dog is trained at the UKC from six to nine months. The first year the instructor regularly visits his pupils, watches how the dog works. To choose a couple by temperament, by nature, by lifestyle is one of the very first tasks.
Vadim and Martin together for only three months and still remember the routes, learn to work together, but have already made friends. Vadim believes that by nature they are ideal for each other. “In any incomprehensible situation, we both go to bed,” Vadim laughs. “They are even outwardly similar,” Camilla smiles. “Sleep in the same poses and snoring equally.”
Vadim and Camilla Photo: Anna Ivantsova for TD“Of course, the dog-guide is not an electronic navigator. He is alive, with his character, sometimes does not obey, sometimes fools and wants to play when this is not necessary. But the guide dog gives a blind man the necessary freedom of movement, ”Vadim is sure. Vadim's daughter lives on a neighboring street, and the route to her house Vadim and Martin were learned first. The couple already went to the vocal center on the subway, regularly selected in shops, cafes, clinic.
Vadim urgently advises a person who has lost his vision and thinks how to put his hands on himself. And go to the training center. It only at first it seems that only in the loop. But life continues. And the guide dog, Vadim is sure, is a new page of life, a new anchor, assistant, friend, navigator, psychological rehabilitation. “You stop thinking how poor you are and unfortunate and switch to the dog.”
Vadim and Martin Photo: Anna Ivantsova for TDThe training and cinological center "Dog-Assistants of the Disabled" since 2003 has been preparing guide dogs to help blind people. Every year, 20-25 people receive a guide dog and hope for a new life. The center invests about 450 thousand rubles in each dog, but blind people get guards absolutely free. The training center exists on grants and private donations. We collect money for the rental of premises of the training center and the aviary, where dogs live during training.
Please, let's help four -legged guides to undergo training and do an important dog business so that as many blind people as possible cease to feel helpless. Any donation is an important contribution to the common cause.
