The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg awarded compensation of 3 thousand rubles to activist Viktor Baldin for inadequately harsh conditions of detention during administrative arrest last fall. This was reported by the publication “Ural. MBH Media".
In October 2019, Baldin, an activist of the Yekaterinburg - For Freedom movement, was found guilty of demonstrating extremist symbols (Part 1 of Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), first because of a publication depicting the Artpodgotovka flag in Odnoklassniki, then because of similar post on Facebook, twice sentencing him to 5 days of administrative arrest.
To serve his arrest, Baldin was sent not to a special detention center, as required, but to a temporary detention center with worse conditions, Ural reports. MBH Media". Baldin, with the help of defense attorney Sergei Tiunov, filed a complaint about the conditions of detention: no cell for non-smokers, no benches, tea and boiling water, a dirty blanket with “dried poop ,” he said .
The applicants demanded more than 700 thousand rubles as compensation. However, the court awarded 3 thousand rubles to Baldin and 4 thousand rubles to Tiunov for the work of the defense lawyer.
