Athletics in Russia is no longer formally

At the outcome of the first month of the New Year, the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation decided to withdraw state accreditation of the All -Russian Athletics Federation for a period of one month. The restoration of internal status will become possible only after holding an extraordinary elected conference, the preparation and conduct of which should be ensured by the working group of the Russian Olympic Committee. When the process of restoring the status of VFLA at the international level resumes and how recent events will help athletes again submit applications for participation in international competitions in neutral status, no one knows yet.

Our long -suffering athletics by the efforts of dishonest coaches, athletes, doctors and their leaders covered them for a long time on their ridge, until by the end of 2015 it was under the sanctions of the International Association of athletics federations (now World athletics). When the doping violations were overflowing, they did not save either the tradition or the position of the leading powers of the “Queen of Sports”, nor the successful holding of the world championship - 2013 in Moscow. The reputation collapsed, I note, even before the promotion of the “case of Grigory Rodchenkov”-in the near future of the chief informant of Wada in an almost 5-year epic with Russian doping.

At the end of November, the Black Test was received by six WFLA officials, led by President Dmitry Shlyakhtin, and the organization as a whole, which almost coincided with the completion of the “case of falsification of the database” of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory. In this situation, instead of the desired change in the fate, Russian athletics could no longer resist the edge of the abyss. The new authorities did not try to keep it too successfully, already “the second crisis” since the beginning of the process. Rather, acting President WFLA Yulia Tarasenko and colleagues tried to do something, but in the old ways. The leading athletes that wrote angry open letters did not want to go to contact with the new-old leadership, in the end, calling for the need to “close this bench”, until the international federation completely covered it.
