In Karelia, the authorities after a court decision want to increase payments to pensioners by 21 rubles

The head of Karelia, Arthur Parfenchikov and deputies of the Karelia Legislative Assembly, introduced a bill, which involves an increase in labor veterans by 21 rubles. This happened after the Constitutional Court of Karelia ordered the authorities of the republic to index payments that have not risen 12 years.

The project states that the amount of monthly payment to veterans and rear workers will be 721 rubles instead of 700. Payment affected by political repression will be increased by 23 rubles - from 750 to 773 rubles. The bill was introduced by the deputies of United Russia Elissan Shandalovich, Olga Shmenik, Alexey Haifets and Leonid Liminchuk.

A similar bill was previously introduced by other deputies of the Legislative Assembly. They proposed increasing payments to 1000 rubles. The Legislative Assembly did not support him.

In November 2019, the Constitutional Court of Karelia recognized as unlawful the lack of indexation of payments to labor veterans. A group of residents of the republic filed a lawsuit with a lawsuit.
