Three defendants in the case of robbery worth 136 million rubles with the participation of FSB officers were put on the wanted list

The military department of the Investigative Committee for Moscow has put on the wanted list three defendants in the case of an attack on a businessman in a Moscow bank, which was carried out by FSB officers. reports this TASS with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.

Among them is businessman Boris Karamatov, whom the news agency source named as the mastermind of the attack. In addition, two more persons involved in the case are wanted: Nikolai Stefu and Artur Dzutsev. The case of the three men was separated into separate proceedings, TASS’s interlocutor clarified. Their status is not specified.

Kommersant wrote that Dzutsev was an intermediary between the security forces and Karamatov. The publication calls Stefa “a certain citizen.”

As Kommersant reported with reference to the investigation, Karatamanov was supposed to organize the exchange of 136 million rubles of businessman Alexander Yumaranov for dollars, but decided to steal money from him and asked for help from the security forces.

According to a TASS source, Karamatov took 60 million rubles from the stolen amount, captain of the Alpha special forces Roman Obolensky - 4 million rubles, FSB Major Alexander Karelin - 2 million rubles, Alpha instructor Khetag Margiev - 6.5 million rubles, and employee of the “K” department Artur Vlasov - 19.5 million rubles.

Before this, Karamatov was involved in a case of theft (Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code) of real estate and after exchanging money he was going to escape, the publication specified.

Seven FSB officers were detained in early July 2019. According to the Investigative Committee, they took 136 million rubles from businessman Alexander Yumaranov, who came to exchange them for currency in a Moscow bank.

Among the accused are fighters from the Alpha and Vympel special forces, an employee of the Federal Tax Service and a former investigator from the prosecutor's office. They are accused under Part 4 of Article 162 of the Criminal Code (robbery committed by an organized group) and robbery (Article 161 of the Criminal Code).

The day before, on February 5, two FSB officers from the Alpha special squad, Vladimir Urusov and Roman Obolensky, were transferred to house arrest. According to TASS, three of the accused are now in pre-trial detention, and five are under house arrest.
