Prosecutor of the Central District of St. Petersburg Pyotr Zaburko canceled the decision to initiate a criminal case against 26-year-old native of Syzran Ivan Naydenov, who reported false explosions and fires 11 times. This was reported by 47news and Interfax, citing an “informed” source.

“Due to the incompleteness of the inspection, the prosecutor’s decision to initiate a case against Naydenov was canceled,” the news agency’s interlocutor said. According to him, the investigation continues.

Naydenov was detained two days ago, on February 4, on suspicion of knowingly false reporting of acts of terrorism (Article 207 of the Criminal Code). Today his detention period expired - 48 hours.

47news provides a list of his calls to 112. From January 26 to January 4, he made 11 calls at different times of the day and reported about fires on Nevsky Prospect, at the Moskovsky Station, in a residential building, explosions in the metro, in the Galereya shopping center and a restaurant.

For example, on January 31, after the collapse of the sports and concert complex, he reported that 15 were injured in the explosion at the Vladimirskaya metro station, the publication claims.

The prosecutor took the case under review and found violations in it. The text of the article refers to “a deliberately false report about an impending explosion or arson.” Naydenov reported on explosions and fires that had allegedly already occurred.

According to Interfax, Naydenov “admitted his guilt and repented”; he explained his behavior with a “desire to attract attention,” since he is “disabled” and has “no place to live.”
