A hospital in Wuhan has confirmed the death of doctor Li Wenliang, who warned about coronavirus

A hospital in Wuhan announced the death of a doctor, Li Wenliang, who was one of the first to warn about the danger of a new virus, from a coronavirus infection.

According to the hospital, the death of a 34-year-old doctor occurred on February 7 at 2:58 local time (21:58 Moscow time on February 6).

• The Chinese Communist Party-controlled Global Times reported Li's death on the evening of February 6. A few hours later, the tweet with this message was deleted, and the newspaper, citing the hospital, wrote that the doctor was alive and in critical condition. According to the BBC, after Lee's death began to be discussed on social media, officials demanded that he be put on life support and the wording of the messages changed from "died" to "is in critical condition."
• Li drew attention to the new virus in late December 2019, initially believing that it was the virus that caused the SARS epidemic. He posted a message about it on WeChat, after which the doctor was reprimanded for spreading "false comments." He himself fell ill in mid-January.
