The City Court of St. Petersburg canceled a fine of 170 thousand rubles to an unlimited protest activist Yevgeny Musin, detained on August 10, 2019 during a series of pickets in support of the promotion against dishonest elections in Moscow. Musin himself announced this ATD-Info.
Thus, the court canceled and sent for a review the decision of the Vyborg District Court, which found Musin to be guilty of repeated violation of the rules of participation in mass events (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Criminal Code). At the same time, the court of first instance had previously sent Musin three times to revise the police, but then he nevertheless fined the activist.

The defense party said that the police during the detention of Musin committed many procedural violations, such as the incorrectly indicated time of the action, making changes to the protocols, or its repeated drawing up. Musin noted that the judge led the process rudely and agreed to view the video of the detention only after numerous objections from the defense. Musin's interests were represented by public defender Maria Malysheva.
