“Vatican graters”, as one spectator, not without poison, qualified the series “New Dad”, suddenly came to an end. What I personally are not particularly sorry. Suddenly - because the last, ninth series for no reason was laid out on Thursday night instead of the declared Saturday. And I do not regret for the reason that I was confused completely. And I suspect that the authors too.
The idea of Paolo Sorrentino was dramatically remarkably productive. To construct a double -level model and see what happens. Although inside this model, of course, various rich meanings were contained - up to the concept of holiness and the transition of the human spirit into another aggregate state. And oddly enough, these high abstractions turned out to be intelligible and convincing - unlike the earthly, even mundane, although, as was said, a productive conflict of two dads.
When the favorite of the PUB ... the flocks of the chickens, he is Lenny Bellardo, leaves the coma (in the 7th episode), the faces are extended by everyone except Juda Lowe himself, who, in general, seems to be deprived of the ability to be surprised. "How much did I sleep?" - "12 months, your Holiness." “Then I deserved the cherry Coca-Cola.” That's all the uprising from the dead. And at first there were 9 months iconic, and I dreamed. But no. Just a year. Not the birth of a new personality, but just a resurrection, business.

Meanwhile, while the young dad was asleep, in the Vatican, as you know, they searched for - and found the new dad, the British aristocrat, Sir John Brenks (John Malkovich). Thin, fragile little thing. Is capricious. Playing on the harp.
Everyone was so tired of intrigues that in the hearts of their PII they had long been buried, and his revival was caused not so much by religious ecstasy as panic. However, six episodes everything goes well. Secretary of State Voilla (Silvio Orlando) weaves his web;
Malkovich’s dad is visited by Sharon Stone (Camoo), teasing the honors with his archetypal legs;
PR man Sofia Dubois, in turn, turns his dad with female spells (her goals change with each menstruation); The girl Esther (a widow selling on TV “miraculously” - after the blessing of Pope Pius, she became pregnant and gave birth to a wonderful boy called Piy, back in the first season). This Esther for a very large grandmother saves the old Cossack way of young men-tutorials (the rich mother of the main freak: “You are a saint.”-“No, I am a whore.”-“Do you know how the whore differs from the saint?”-“How?”-“nothing”). Around the Vatican, continuously and unappetizingly absorbing mollusks, a certain Bauer from the special services, a terrible person, is sewn-he and Voilla play some of his spy warfare, now and then threatening each other with terrible reprisals. Dad plays the harp. In general, life everywhere.
Against this background, a certain Muslim conspiracy is ripening. The Islamists want to end Christianity, destroying its very spirit - the Vatican. One of the nuns is pregnant from an Arab boy. Yeah! Here is a preaching of universal love and a single God, which is this love.
But the Vatican is much more concerned about the taxes that the government overlaid it. Bauer, with the approval of Voilla and Sophia Dubua, launches his minor chicken into the nest of monstrous debauchery, where the Minister of Finance walks along the buffet. But the Vatican feeder, Sophie's husband, is also delayed there. Compromance is worse than a Muslim bomb. Resignation, deprivation of the dignity, divorce. Dad plays the harp. He is an angel.

What would you do in his place? He does not understand anything, does not know anything, and the path of the golden middle that he preaches has as much relations as a modern Vatican to holiness.
Sorrentino how can pursue the moment of exiting the pope of Pius from a coma. How to build further intrigue? After all, everything turned out so well. So chic, such an evil satire. Such games with reflections, double semolina, such interesting ciphers waiting for keys. And here - a ray of light in the dark kingdom. It is completely incomprehensible how to use it in this, we will call a spade a spade, a pamphlet - a genre, whatever one may say, political (burdened by the same Muslim threat).
Crazy house, fire in a mess during a flood. Dads replace each other in the hall in front of the conclave and on the balcony in front of the crowd, like dolls above the shirma, and, God's right, what a snowstorm they carry! “What did the scriptwriters who wrote these sermons smoke?! Cardinals: “I don't understand anything. Who is our dad? " - "Be quiet, a fool, and pray."
The papal duel in this context is insoluble. Because “both guys are brave, both are good,” and nothing can be done about it. None of these figures can not be sacrificed. Light spoiler: Grandmaster sacrifices both. How beautiful and elegant!
And the main intriguer of Voilla, falling from his grandiose height (before she gets out into completely sky -high heights) does not break, but acquires a human face. He alone sees in his pupil, a wordless and immovable and immovable disabled person Jerolomo “Hour of Suffering and Love”, he alone understands this holy soul. Not only everywhere life, but everyone is a person. And worthy of love. This is where Sorrentino cuts out in his “Vatican graters”. Not so bad.
No matter how hard and merciless the authors deal with the church - they are Catholics. This is in the blood.
Without own - personal and artistic - relations with religion, it is generally impossible to approach this topic. She, the theme of a miracle (in quotes and without), gives out agnostics in Sorrentino. And for this I am ready to forgive a lot. And the confusion in the plot, and the characters abandoned half a way along with their meanings, and the absurd attack (the idiotic attempt of fans to return the Pope Pius - but how many nonsense are sophisticated around), and in general there are a lot of gross seams and absurdities.
But I will not forgive one. Let the mocking, parody - but still behind the facet of taste - the passage of Juda Low on the screensavers. Remember the young dad? How beautifully he walked in a rapper past picturesque masterpieces, in this mantle a pontiff, how promisingly he winked ...
Why was it to undress the saint, to disarm him into the vile white swimming trunks, to let him in the background of the nun who are exhausted from the lust in the bikini? To what? Show that in the vague of spirituality, men have some thing? Then why swimming trunks?
Sorrentino, by the way, was asked in an interview why he loves to show male bodies so much. “They inspire me,” the master answered.
Well, I don't know. This Bellardo, or rather, Jude Lowe, for my taste - is too stocky. And you can’t help with any wink here.
