Four people wearing anti-facial recognition makeup were detained at the presidential administration
At the presidential administration, four activists were detained who were doing make-up against facial recognition, OVD-Info reports.
They are charged with "uncoordinated action."
In early February, a group of artists announced the start of the "Follow" campaign. “Its essence is simple - to offer Muscovites who suffer from data phobia (fear of falling into databases) a way to get away from identification. The method is very simple - apply makeup on the face, ” the artists explained on Facebook.
The face recognition system was launched in Moscow in 2017, by the end of 2019, 40% of video cameras on city streets were to be connected to it (there are 162,000 of them in total).
