Samara resident Daria V., who is raising a daughter with a disability, was allocated an apartment after the intervention of the Patronus children's human rights project.

As Daria told Takim Dela, the city administration recently gave her the keys to her new home, and the documents were also signed. The apartment has been renovated taking into account all the needs of the family. Daria and her daughter plan to move within two weeks.

According to the woman, she unsuccessfully tried for two years in court to prove her daughter’s right to comfortable housing. The last court decision was made in April 2019: the court ordered the Samara property department to provide Daria and her daughter with an apartment under a social rental agreement out of turn. To which the department stated that there was no suitable premises on city property.

In October 2019, Daria contacted Patronus. The project's lawyers helped the woman draw up a complaint, which she decided to address directly to the head of the city, and on December 25, officials allocated housing to the family. As Patronus notes, this is the fastest solution to the housing problem among their clients.

“Patronus” is a children’s human rights project of the charitable organization “Space of Communication” , which is engaged in the development and social adaptation of adults and children with mental disabilities. The organization also aims to improve the quality of life of the families of its wards.
