Bashkir activist was arrested for failure to pay a fine for detention during election observation

Magistrate Court No. 3 in the Kirovsky district of Ufa arrested local activist Ramilya Saitova for 5 days for failure to pay a fine due to police detention during the observation of the September elections. this She announced on her page on VKontakte.

Saitova was found guilty under the article on evading the execution of an administrative penalty (Article 20.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) due to a fine of 1,500 rubles imposed on September 8, 2019. On that day, she was at the polling station as a member of the TEC, from where she was called by traffic police officers and fined under part 4 of article 12.16 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (failure to comply with the requirements prescribed by road signs or roadway markings).

At the same time, Saitova insisted that she could not be brought to administrative punishment, since she is a member of the TEC, and this requires the sanction of the prosecutor. The same conclusion was reached by the judge of the magistrate district No. 7 in the Kirovsky district, who on January 31 returned the case to the police about non-execution of an administrative penalty.

She went on a hunger strike during her administrative detention.

• In December 2019, Ramilya Suitova was fined 20,000 rubles for publishing a video message in which she called for an unapproved rally in defense of nature. She was found guilty under Part 2 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization of a public event without filing a notification).
• At the end of January, traffic police officers stopped her car, allegedly because they had an orientation for her. After refusing to get out of the car, the traffic police officer knocked out the side window and dragged Saitova out by force. As a result, a report on disobedience to a policeman was drawn up against her (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
