The new Far Eastern airline can receive two dozen SSJ-100

The new air carrier, which the authorities plan to create for flights to the Far East, can receive 20 Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov. This issue has already been discussed by the Ministry of Transport and the Almond, and the cooperation itself will be profitable for the UAC, the manufacturer of the SSJ-100, and the future airline, writes with reference to TASS Manturov.

In December, Vladimir Putin instructed the government to make a proposal to create a company for flights to the Far East. He also instructed the government to determine the terms and volumes of serial production of aircraft for regional transportation.

The air carrier for flights to the Far East can be created either on the basis of the existing airline, or as a new player, both options are being considered so far. Among the companies that could take on the project, the air carriers of Yakutia and Aurora were considered.

The project was planned to be launched together with large banks and companies - Sberbank, VTB and Rostec State Corporation. Critics called the initiative excessive - instead of creating a new airline, it is easier to give additional subsidies to existing airlines for flights to the Far East.

The authorities are clearly trying to solve two problems at once - the high cost of flights for residents of the Far East and the lack of demand for SSJ. Last year, only 15 SSJ-100 airliners were supposed to be delivered to the “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft”, only five of them were leasing to companies besides Aeroflot. This is the minimum indicator in seven years, which does not ensure the loading of the assembly production and the breakthrough of the GSS.
