To the ISS launched a Cygnus cargo ship (video)

On February 15, the American Cygnus cargo ship of the American company Northrop Grumman was successfully launched to the International Space Station. The broadcast was carried out on the YouTube channel of the US National Aeronautics and Space Studies (NASA). Initially, the launch was scheduled for February 9, but it was canceled for technical reasons a few minutes before the start. The launch was postponed to February 14, but then it was postponed for another day due to weather conditions.

The Antares launch vehicle with the Cygnus ship was launched from the Cosmodrome on the island of Wallops (Virginia) in the Atlantic Ocean at 23 hours 21 minutes Moscow time. After 10 minutes, Cygnus was brought into orbit. About two hours after the launch, the ship deployed solar panels.

The ship should deliver about 3.6 tons of various cargoes to the ISS, including food, essential items, equipment for the station and devices for research. The joining of the "truck" Cygnus with a space station is scheduled for Tuesday, February 18.

This mission was the 14th in a row for the Cygnus ship. Of the 13 previous flights, only one failure ended: in 2014, due to problems in the first stage, the launch vehicle was destroyed by the self-tapping control of the operator about 10 seconds after the start of the engines.
