
In 2019, more than a third of all new cars sold in Russia had a four -wheel drive. This conclusion was reached in the agency "Avtostat" .
According to analysts, in total last year, 566 thousand new cars with all -wheel drive were sold in Russia - their sales were 34.7% of the total Russian car market. Basically we are talking about crossovers with all -wheel drive and relatively modest off -road capabilities.
The report notes that the share of front -wheel drive machines in the market was 64.5% (1.05 million pieces), while only 0.8% of the market (a little more than 12 thousand cars) accounted for the rear -wheel drive cars.
Earlier it became known that in the nine months of 2019, a share of new cars with automatic transmission (AT), accounted for 59% of total sales of cars in the Russian market. The leaders in the absolute number of sales of cars with "automatic" were Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Volkswagen and Skoda.
Recall, according to the European Business Association (AEB), sales of cars and light commercial cars in Russia in 2019 amounted to 1.76 million units, decreasing by 2.3% compared to 2018. At the end of the year, the leadership in the Russian car market was preserved by AvtoVAZ, which sold about 362.4 thousand LADA cars (+1%). The second place in terms of sales was taken by Kia (225.9 thousand, -1%). In third place is Hyundai (178.8 thousand, unchanged for a year). The AEB predicts that this year sales of cars in Russia will continue to fall, and the market will be reduced by 2.1%, to 1.72 million cars sold.
