Serebrennikov will make a film about Joseph Mengele

The next project of Cyril Serebrennikov will be the film adaptation of the novel by the French writer Olivier Geza “The disappearance of Joseph Mengele” (La Disparition de Josef Mengele).

According to Variety , the director will create a film adaptation of the novel along with producer Charles Zhiliber, among the latest projects of the “scam in Miami” ( Wasp Network ) Olivier Assayasa and Bergman Island) Mia Hansen-Lev.

The book of Olivier Geza, who received the Renodo Prize in 2017 and translated into dozens of foreign languages, tells the first person the history of the doctor Joseph Mengele, who conducted experiments on the prisoners of the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II, and after it was hidden in Latin America for many years.

According to Zhiliber, Serebrennikov offers the “outstanding, ambitious interpretation” of Roman Geza.

Also in the production of the film, Ilya Stuart, who previously worked with Serebrennikov on the paintings “Pupil” (2016) and “Summer” (2018), and the Mexican producer Hulio Chavemontes (“Island of Bergman”), participate in the production of the film.
