
The Communist Party deputy Sergei Shargunov introduced to the State Duma a draft amnesty for the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. According to Kommersant, the parliamentarian proposed to free convicts in the “Moscow case” and stop the cases of other participants in the opposition rallies in Moscow.
Shargunov proposes to release the suspects or accused of the riots from the punishment (part 2, 3, 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code), as well as to terminate the cases of accusations of repeated violations of the established procedure during the rally (Article 212.1 of the Criminal Code) and in the non -hazardous for the life of violence committed in relation to the representative of the authorities (part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code).
In addition, the deputy proposes to amnesty the persons who committed crimes by negligence, were convicted for the first time, conditionally, for a period of up to five years or received a punishment not related to imprisonment, as well as those to whom the unsuitable part of the punishment was softened or less than a year.
“These people deserve mercy. I have no doubt that colleagues in the faction will support this initiative and that common sense will prevail, especially on the eve of the 75th anniversary of Victory, ”Shargunov said.
