The Solikamsk City Court sentenced Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Perm Territory Ilya Kuzmin to three years in a general regime colony for faking an attempt on his life, reports with reference to the court’s press service. RIA Novosti
The deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code (knowingly false denunciation combined with the artificial creation of evidence for the accusation).
According to investigators, in the fall of 2018, Kuzmin decided to stage an attempted murder “in order to attract public attention to his person.”
According to 59.ru , at the end of February 2019, Kuzmin contacted the police and said that he had been shot twice with a sawn-off shotgun. As evidence, the deputy presented pellet marks on the hood of his jacket.
The investigation concluded that Kuzmin had shot through the hood in advance, and in the courtyard of a residential building, local resident Eduard Melnikov, whom the deputy had paid in advance, shot at him with blank cartridges.
The press service of the court reports two more accomplices of the deputy. All three were charged under Part 5 of Article 33, Part 3 of Article 306 of the Criminal Code (assistance in committing a false denunciation combined with the artificial creation of evidence for the prosecution).
