In Moscow, the presidential administration detained two participants in single pickets in support of political prisoners, Pavel Steppanchenko and Alexander Kuznetsov, the OVD-Info hotline reported.

According to an eyewitness, police artificially created a situation of violation of “Rules 50 m” - a minimum distance between the picketers. When one of the detainees stood in a picket, the police stopped the other and inspected, asking for a poster to deploy. Then the law enforcement officers said that the picketers did not observe the minimum distance, and detained both.

Pavel Stepanchenko and Alexander Kuznetsov were delivered to the police department in the Khamovniki district. For about forty minutes, the police kept them in a car carrier and did not allow them to go to the toilet or drink water. Kuznetsov has diabetes, he felt ill in the police department, an ambulance was called there.

A protocol was drawn up to Kuznetsov under an article on a repeated violation of the procedure for conducting pickets (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), on Steppanchenko - under articles for disobedience to the legal requirement of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and a violation of the procedure for holding pickets (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The hearing was appointed at 10:00 in the Tver District Court on February 27.

In the Basmanny police department, Andrei Chernikov, detained on a single picket, was also delivered. He was released under an obligation to draw up a protocol on an administrative offense. According to the police, Chernikov violated the rules of a single picket when a passerby approached him.
