The developer of the Red button for detainees at rallies was arrested for drugs. He pleaded guilty

For two months, the Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg was sent to the IT specialist Alexander Litreev, the founder of Vee Security Russia and the developer of the Red button human rights (allows you to notify friends and human rights defenders about your detention). He is charged with the purchase of two ecstasy tablets weighing 0.49 and 0.38 grams - this is part 1 tbsp. 228 of the Criminal Code. A 23-year-old programmer can face up to three years in prison.

Litreev was detained in Yekaterinburg on the evening of February 22. According to investigators, he flew to the Urals from St. Petersburg to get acquainted with 19-year-old Alena K.-a girl with whom before that more than six months talked on Instagram.

Arriving in Yekaterinburg, Litreev, according to the police, took a car sharing car, drove to K. to a student hostel, and with it went to take the “laying” into the Krasnolesye area (the southwestern outskirts of the city). Having found drugs, the programmer went to the Novotel Hotel, next to which he was stopped by traffic police officers.

“The police report said that they“ received information ”that Litreev could supposedly transport drugs,” the programmer’s lawyer Alexei Bushmakov told Novaya Gazeta. - Where this information is incomprehensible.

The lawyer notes that during the detention to Alexander Litrev, force was used, he broke a jacket. At the same time, the police did not find drugs - ecstasy was discovered only in the police department No. 5, in the sock of the programmer.

- Police officers already knew about the public activity of Alexander. They treated him badly: for example, in the IVS, he said, there were five free cameras, but he was hooked into the already busy, and he slept on the floor, ”the lawyer says.

By 11:00 it did not start. Half an hour before, judge Anton Belykh arrived. The remaining participants in the process pulled up delayed. Alexander Litreev himself was brought into the hall as a particularly dangerous criminal: the police asked everyone to leave the floor.

The meeting begins. The judge reads the case file. It turns out that the Litreev companion confirms his guilt. Here are her testimony:

“Litreev said that he bought a drug of MDMA on the Hydra website by laying, which he planned to pick up upon arrival. On February 22, Alexander flew to Yekaterinburg, drove to my hostel, after which we went to Krasnolesya, where in the park Alexander took a bag of narcotic substance, which was attached by a magnet to one of the garbage tanks. Alexander removed his bag in his shoes. "

The investigation is affiliated: put the programmer in custody for two months. Yes, the crime is not serious, but there’s nowhere to live in Yekaterinburg, nothing connects him with the city. He does not have registrations in Russia either. But there is a residence permit in Estonia (the programmer won a competition for business development in this country). Therefore, it can hide.

The defense is beautifully rattting: he brings to court a person who is ready to hand over his apartment in Yekaterinburg. Officially, under the contract. The lawyer intercedes with house arrest in this apartment.

-The history of my life shows that I am not a person who can pose any danger. I have two higher educations. I am often a cited public figure, an expert on cybersecurity, a member of the expert commission of the Internet development company. It would be unreasonable on my part to spoil my reputation by attempts to hide from justice, ”said Litreev himself.

The prosecution, as usual, had slaughter counterarguments.

- I believe that the inquiry body has exceptional circumstances to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention. Litreev, being at large, can hide from the bodies of inquiry and the court, as it has a pending passport and residence permit in Estonia until 2024, the prosecutor said.

Alexander Litreev from the cage tried to object that he did not have a passport in his hands now, since he was seized by police officers. But this fact neither the prosecution nor the judge aroused this fact.

As a result, despite the not difficult article and the willingness of Litreev, to connect himself with Yekaterinburg with a rented apartment, the court sent him to a pre -trial detention center.

- The court showed that it is better to violate the law in the region of its registration. Because if you live in Vyimo-Utkinsk and work at a local factory, you have quite strong connection with this place. And if you are a freelancer, registered in the Leningrad Region, but did something in Yekaterinburg-you will certainly hide, ”said Litreev’s lawyer Alexei Bushmakov after the meeting.
