“Our clients were hungry all day today. Let me remind you that last time their dry rations were expired, and therefore they could not eat them. It was assumed that if the expiration date is not visible, formally they (the defendants in the case - “Crimea. Realities” ) are provided with food, ”the lawyer quoted the publication as saying.
One of the defendants, Timur Ibragimov, was refused to call an ambulance, despite a sharp deterioration in health.
At the meeting on February 25, a secret witness in the case was interrogated. Lawyer Ayder Azamatov noted that the trials in the second Bakhchisaray case of Hizb ut-Tahrir were going on throughout February almost without interruption. This not only prevents his clients from preparing for the hearings, but also deprives them of the opportunity to wash themselves and receive medical assistance, since the arrested are taken away from the pre-trial detention center for the whole day.
- The second Bakhchisaray case of Hizb ut-Tahrir was initiated in October 2017. Marlen Asanov, Timur Ibragimov and Memet Belyalov are accused of organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (1st part of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code), Server Zekiryaev, Ernes Ametov, Server Mustafaev, Edem Smailov and Seyran Saliev of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization (2nd part Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). In addition, all of them are accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code with the application of the 1st part of Article 30 of the Criminal Code), and Seyran Saliyev is also accused of publicly justifying terrorist activities (Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code). Most of the defendants in this case are activists of Crimean Solidarity, a public movement in support of the persecuted Crimean Tatars.
- The Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir has been recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. In different regions of the country, cases were initiated about the activities of a terrorist organization, while party members were not seen in the preparation of attacks or terrorist attacks. Members of Hizb ut-Tahrir are sentenced to various terms only on the basis that they held meetings and read religious literature.
