Sobyanin refused to be considered discrimination against checking China citizens in connection with coronavirus

The insulation regime for foreigners who arrived in Moscow from countries subject to coronavirus epidemics is not discriminatory and applies to all, including China citizens. The mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, wrote in a letter to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC in Russia Zhang Hanhway, Interfax reports .

“Citizens of any countries, including the PRC, on a non -discriminatory basis when entering the territory of the Russian Federation from states and areas subject to epidemics, when passing border control, receive a resolution of the Main State Sanitary Doctor of Moscow on the need to strictly observe the insulation regime at the place of residence and/or stay,” the letter said.

Sobyanin asked the Chinese ambassador with understanding to treat forced measures and noted that the isolation regime implies a ban on moving around the city, including public transport. Since February 22, 88 people were identified in Moscow who violated the insulation regime, of which 80 people were China citizens.
