It was proposed to add to the Constitution of the Russian Federation a provision on the possibility of placing federal bodies of state power not only in Moscow. Such an amendment was submitted to the State Duma Committee on Legislation, the committee's press service reported.

“In part 2 of article 70, after the words that the capital of the Russian Federation is the city of Moscow, it is indicated that the place of permanent residence of individual federal bodies of state power may be another city, determined by the federal constitutional law,” said the head of the committee, Pavel Krasheninnikov.

• On January 23, the State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft law on amendments to the Constitution proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
• Additional amendments to the bill are submitted for the second reading, which was tentatively scheduled for March 10.
