The Zheleznovodsk City Court of Stavropol sentenced Chechen resident Amir Oskanov to a year and 11 months in a penal colony in the case of a rally in Magas. this . reports Memorial
As human rights activists write, Oskanov was accused of using violence against a government official (Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code). The accused admitted guilt, saying that he threw a chair and a bottle at the rally, but insisted that he did not hit anyone. The prosecutor asked to sentence Oskanov to one and a half years in a general regime colony. Taking into account the time spent in the pre-trial detention center, the accused will be released at the end of March, human rights activists specify.
A resident of Ingushetia, Ruslan Dzeitov, was sentenced to a year and nine months in a penal colony under the same article. The accused also partially admitted his guilt, adding that he kicked the National Guard to protect the women and elderly protesters. At the same time, experts did not find any bodily injuries on the injured security officer Morozov. The prosecutor asked to sentence Dzeitov to a year and six months in a general regime colony.
In the spring of 2019, protests resumed in Ingushetia over the law on a new border with neighboring Chechnya. Security forces tried to disperse the protesters, but they were pelted with chairs and stones.
