After blocking oppositionist Milov’s card, Sberbank demanded to know whether he transferred money to FBK

Sberbank demanded that Navalny Live host Vladimir Milov explain whether he transferred the money he collected to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) to his personal card. He wrote about this on Facebook.

At the end of February, the bank blocked the oppositionist’s card on the basis of the Federal Law “On Combating Legalization (Laundering of Proceeds from Crime and the Financing of Terrorism.”

As Milov explained, he collected donations on the card to compensate for claims against oppositionists for the summer protests in Moscow. Sberbank asked him to show transactions since December 1, 2019 - then Milov began collecting money.

Now the bank has demanded to clarify whether these funds were “intended for the implementation of public activities” of FBK, or whether Milov “carries out public activities independently” of the fund.

After mass protests against the exclusion of opposition candidates from participating in elections to the City Duma, several million rubles were recovered from the protest leaders in favor of the State Budgetary Institution “Avtomobilnye Dorogi” , the restaurant “Armenia” and the National Guard , allegedly for losses from the rallies.
