The families of Navalny and Zhdanov had their accounts blocked, presumably in connection with the FBK case of “money laundering”

On the evening of March 2, banks blocked the accounts of family members of Alexei Navalny and Ivan Zhdanov, Navalny reports on his website.

At least ten accounts are known to be blocked: Alexei Navalny, his parents, wife and two children, as well as Ivan Zhdanov, his parents and wife.

The oppositionist connects the actions of the banks with the FBK case on “money laundering”, in which the accounts of about 700 Navalny supporters had already been blocked .

“Then I go into the Internet bank myself and see that all my cards are blocked. “Resolution of the investigator in the framework of the criminal case of such and such.” The amount “minus 75 million” unmistakably points to the “FBK case,” writes Alexey Navalny.

On the same day, it became known that a certain Oleg Vladimirovich Deripasko filed a lawsuit against Navalny. The reasons for the lawsuit are unknown. The oppositionist suggested that businessman Oleg Deripaska, about whom FBK published an investigation, went to court.

16:25 Oleg Deripaska filed a lawsuit against Alexei Navalny to protect his business reputation, TASS reports . The businessman’s lawyer, Alexey Melnikov, said that one of the videos on Navalny’s YouTube channel LIVE contained false information about Deripaska’s sources of profit.

“Mr. Navalny disseminated untrue information that my client is using incorrect and illegal state support when doing business, in particular, by receiving non-repayable loans. We claim that such information is not true, we ask the court to oblige Navalny to refute it and to collect from Navalny symbolic compensation for moral damage in the amount of 1 ruble,” the publication quotes Melnikov’s comment.

• On October 15, 2019, the Investigative Committee published news in which it reported that searches were being conducted in 30 regions both at the headquarters of the FBK and at the place of residence of employees of the regional divisions of the FBK. A number of them were summoned to investigators for questioning. That day we chronicled the searches.
• On August 3, a criminal case was opened against the Anti-Corruption Foundation founded by Navalny for laundering funds. The investigation believes that in 2016–2018, a group of people, including FBK employees, received more than 75.5 million rubles from unknown sources, and then, “disguising their criminal origin,” deposited this money into FBK accounts.
• On September 9, the Ministry of Justice added the Anti-Corruption Foundation to the register of “foreign agents.” In January, FBK drew up the first protocol under the law on foreign agents.
