
In a criminal case of violence against security forces during last year's protests in Magas, another person appeared - Akhmed Chakhkiev, Memorial reports. According to the human rights center, Chakhiev is the 42nd person involved in the case.
He was detained on March 5 together with three inhabitants of Ingushetia on suspicion of applying violence that is life -threatening or health in relation to a representative of the authorities (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The security forces released the three bangs, while Chakhkiev was delivered to the Magasian city court, which arrested the man for two months.
In the fall of 2018, an agreement was signed on the transfer of part of the lands of Ingushetia Chechnya between the heads of the republics-Yunus-Bek Evkurov and Ramzan Kadyrov. Under this agreement, Ingushetia received a part of the Nadtererny district from Chechnya, in return Ingushetia handed over to Chechnya the territory on the border with the Malgobek district, a section of the Sunzhensky district. After that, mass protests were held in Ingushetia.
In March 2019, the protests resumed, on March 26 and 27 in Magas, a coordinated rally was held in which clashes occurred between the police and protesters. After the shares, the security forces arranged massive detentions and searches in the houses of activists. In the criminal case of violence against the police, about 40 people were arrested, 21 of them had already received real terms. At the beginning of this year, new defendants appeared in the case.
