The Essentuki city court extended for three months, until June 11, the arrest of one of the leaders of the Ingush protest, Zarifa Sautiyeva. This is reported by "Caucasian Knot".
The meeting was held behind closed doors, only the participants in the process were allowed to attend - Sautiyeva herself, the investigator and the lawyer. Sautiyeva's lawyer Magomed Bekov considers the closed session unlawful:
“According to Article 241 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the meetings must be open. There must be good reason for closing a meeting. This is mainly due to the safety of participants in the process or the participation of a minor in the case. There are certain compositions according to which the court can declare the session closed, but this is not the case," the words of the lawyer "Caucasian Knot" convey.
Sautiyeva's relatives reported that the investigators did not allow her to visit her in the Nalchik pre-trial detention center either.
41-year-old Zarifa Sautiyeva is accused of organizing violence that is dangerous to health (part 3 of article 33, part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code) because of a rally in Magas last spring and of participating in an extremist community (part 2 of article 318 of the Criminal Code). 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) in connection with the community of IKNE (Ingush Committee of National Unity). She has been in custody since July 12, 2019, in the Nalchik pre-trial detention center.
