Penza activist was fined 20 thousand rubles for a theatrical action on the Constitution Day

The Leninsky District Court of Penza fined 20 thousand rubles an activist of the Penza Komsomol Roman Stotsky under the article on the organization of an inconsistent campaign (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for a theatrical action in honor of the Constitution Day. Stotsky himself spoke about this OVD-Info.

“The prosecution said that we used visual agitation in the form of plates“ freedom of speech ”,“ freedom of personality ”and“ freedom of assembly ”. I don’t know who these signs were sagitized somewhere. But the prosecution considered it was a public event, ”says the activist.

The meeting itself, according to the activist, took place not in the courtroom, but in the judge’s office: “There was not a single camera, no secretary, nor bailiffs.”

In addition, a comrade of Stotsky Alexander Rogozhkin was taken out of the premises due to the fact that he smiled. “The judge said:“ If you smile, you will leave the courtroom. ” Alexander smiled and brought him out the bailiffs, ”said Stotsky and added that his second friend, Mikhail Matveev, was not allowed to the meeting, because he was previously interrogated in the police department,“ although he was at the last meeting, and there were no problems. ”

The theatrical action, during which two people depicting law enforcement officers, and a person in clothes with the Logo of the United Russia party symbolically shot and buried “freedom of assembly”, “freedom of personality” and “freedom of speech”, was held on December 12 of the city administration. The next day, the police detained Roman Stotsky. Two more activists were summoned to the police department to give explanations.
On December 17, the court terminated the case against Stotsky, since the activist, according to him, was able to convince the judge that the action did not fall under the category of public events. However, on December 27, Stotsky received the prosecutor’s protest to the court decision.
