In Veliky Novgorod, a local resident suited the Ministry of Defense 800 thousand rubles for the death of a son in the army. This was reported by the press service of the courts of the Novgorod region.

The son of the victim died as a result of a "joke". In April 2018, a soldier sent a loaded assault rifle towards his colleague and began to shoot. According to the accused, he believed that the machine was on the fuse.

Earlier, another court sentenced the former soldier to real punishment. According to this sentence, the mother of the deceased was denied moral compensation. The woman received only insurance.

A local resident went to court, demanding to recover 1 million rubles from the Ministry of Defense. The lawsuit was satisfied, but the defendant appealed the decision. The appellate court held the decision of the district court, obliging the Ministry of Defense to pay 800 thousand rubles.
