"We will act within the framework of the law." Putin said that voting on amendments to the Constitution can be held at home

Vladimir Putin admitted that the universal vote on amendments to the Constitution on April 22 could go at home due to the pandemic of coronavirus, RIA Novosti reports .

“Voting on amendments to the Constitution will be held with all precautions, it is possible to vote at home,” the president said.

He added that the possibility of voting through the public services portal is also discussed. “Yesterday we discussed this with the chairman of the Central Election Commission, with Ella Aleksandrovna Pampilova, we will act in the framework of the law,” Putin said.

On March 10, State Duma deputy Valentina Tereshkova proposed to introduce an amendment to the Constitution, which allows the current president to participate in the 2024 elections. On March 14, Putin signed the law on amendments to the Constitution. All 85 regional legislatures of Russia supported the law in two days, and on March 11 the State Duma, and then the Federation Council approved amendments.
