Putin dismissed the deputy director of the FSIN Valery Maksimenko from his position

Vladimir Putin dismissed Valery Maksimenko, Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary (FSIN), Deputy Director of the Federal Penitentiary Service. It is reported by TASS.

“In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of March 18, 2020, Valery Maksimenko, deputy director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, was dismissed,” the press service of the department noted.

Maksimenko served as deputy director of the service since 2016.

Back in November 2019, it became known that Maksimenko wrote a resignation report. He himself confirmed this, but officially not reported about removing him from his post

On November 15, Maksimenko said that he would no longer have a media comment. “Personally, I will not give comments anymore, but this is not from disrespect for you. It’s just that our work format is changing-now on all questions you are interested in, please contact our press service in writing. And within seven days a written response will be directed, ”he said.

At the same time, Maksimenko explained that his decision is connected with shame to comment on crime in the FSIN system.

“Here is an example: the head of the colony - it was a couple of weeks ago - the head in the toilet dipences the prisoner, and after that it becomes the acting of the first deputy department, which has more than a dozen such colonies. Tell me honestly, how to comment? With shame, I want to fail underground. Suspendy is just to death. And paper, well, paper, I think it will endure everything, ”he explained.

On October 8, the former head of the Krasnoyarsk FSB Alexander Kalashnikov was appointed the new head of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia. A week before, the former head of the department Gennady Kornienko resigned. The formal reason was the achievement of the deadline for the service - 65 years.
