Let's pat the doctors who save us all

They pulled out, deceived fate, said: "No, early, not in our shift, work yet, take the breath." Very tired, almost do not leave work. We all have quarantine, self -isolation, we sit at home. And they do not have remoteks, they were canceled vacation.

“We stayed at work for you. Stay at home for us, ”is written on a poster in the hands of an Israeli doctor. They have a flash mob this: doctors in different languages turn to many -linguistic people, convincing to calmly accept the quarantine on which the country was closed. This will not save the people from infection, but this will slow down the spread of the virus, which means that it will give doctors time and resource to help everyone.

And in Norway, another flash mob: people throughout the country applaud doctors. The first action took place on Monday in Oslo: by applause, the townspeople supported the hospital staff. At the same time, from open windows and from balconies, people who are locked in quarantine clapped those who cannot hide from pandemia, who should save lives. The next day, the action was repeated throughout the country, recording on the video. There are children and adults on it, men and women, old people and babies on balconies and roofs, in the forest and in the snow, offline and skip are clapping doctors.

On March 19, a similar flash mob was held in Israel, students called on the fellow citizens: “Today we, Israeli citizens, go to balconies, to the yards, to the terraces or just go to the windows, proudly raise our heads and will applaud those who have helped us at this difficult time.”

And Italian football players said that now, during quarantine, only one team is playing - a team of doctors - and we are all sick for this team.

The fact that doctors do during the epidemic will someday shoot more than one film. In the same Norway, anticipating the hurricane spread of infection, mobilization announced:

All who have ever received a medical specialty, today's students of medical services and doctors who have long retired, were called to the service of medicine.

The latter in the special risk zone, as you know, is elderly - a target for coronavirus. In a couple of days, 1800 people responded. Moreover, everyone understands danger. 49 Norwegian doctors working with coronavirus patients have already been infected.

In the last days, the symbol of the feat of the sister of Helena Paliarini from the hospital in Lombardy, who fell asleep at work right in a protective suit, dropping his head on the table, has become a symbol of the feat of doctors. Elena, who was terribly embarrassed, seeing her photo in the first lanes, did not see the family for many days. She, like most colleagues, chose voluntary separation from loved ones so as not to infect them. And there is simply no time to call home. Doctors live at work during the epidemic, and this is not an exaggeration.

In February, the head of the hospital in the Chinese city of Ujan Liu Zhimin died from Koronavirus. He became infected, saving patients. In total, more than 3 thousand doctors were infected in China. They paid such a price for the victory over the virus: on March 19 it was the first day, when not a single new infected was revealed in the country.

Several doctors - Italian and Chinese - published a selfie made at the end of the shift on the Internet.

They can see that the skin on their faces is inflamed and wiped from the constant wearing of protective masks.

The nurse Alisia Bonari accompanied the publication with a comment: physical pain as moral suffering at the sight of people on the verge of death is not as terrible. A team of psychologists and psychiatrists was created in the Turin hospital to help the medical staff of intensive care units under stress. It is a pity that so far only there.

We are not used to thinking about what the doctor is worried when he loses the patient. And when he risks losing him. Jokes about “your small cemetery” is all that society knows about the tragic side of the medical profession. And few people know, but according to statistics, doctors live on average 15 years less than their patients. They extend our line of life, shortening their own.

Now the life expectancy of doctors, according to WHO, is 54 years. Previously, surgeons, resuscitators and anesthesiologists go away.

Have you seen the doctors get sick? I - yes. They are terrible patients, because they, even on the very edge, continue to ignore their pain, trying to save others.

Israel calls people who, risking themselves, saved Jews during the Holocaust, the righteous of the world. Now the new righteouss of the world are doctors. They voluntarily go to mortal risk so that others - good and evil, righteous and sinners - live.

And, probably, this is the only profession in which it is impossible to be a good specialist, but a bad person. When we all lose our moral imperative, doctors will retain it. And for this they are endowed with a divine gift to inhale life into a person and win in a dispute with death.
