The Ministry of Culture recommended cinemas to close

The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation recommends that all cinemas suspend work from March 23 due to the coronavirus epidemic. The corresponding order was signed by the head of department Olga Lyubimova.

Previously, some networks began to close on their own.

Such restrictions are already in place for museums, theaters, philharmonic societies and circuses subordinate to the Ministry of Culture.

Due to the epidemic, a high alert regime has been in effect in all regions of the Russian Federation since March 19, which involves the cancellation of cultural, sports and mass events.

As of March 22, 367 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered in Russia, more than half of them in Moscow.
