The prosecutor's office transferred the case of the rally with Putin's mannequin to the Perm court

The Prosecutor's Office of the Perm Territory submitted to the court a criminal case about a mannequin with the face of Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the approved indictment.

According to the document, Alexander Kotov, a libertarian, and Danila Vasilyev and Alexander Shabarchin, activists of Navalny’s local headquarters, “due to political, ideological hostility, and also based on the hostility of a social group - residents of the Russian Federation who support the activities of Russian President V.V. Putin” committed a gross violation of public order. They are charged with hooliganism committed by a group of persons (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code).

In December 2019, a psychological and linguistic examination commissioned by the Investigative Committee found signs of disrespect for society and motives for political hatred in Kotov's actions. Before that, in the spring, the linguistic examination of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not find in the text on the mannequin a negative assessment on the basis of gender, race, language, nationality, origin, or belonging to any group.

• In November 2018, an effigy of Vladimir Putin in a prison uniform with the inscriptions “Liar” and “War criminal Pynya V.V.” was tied to an electric lighting pole in Perm. According to investigators, "unidentified persons, expressing clear disrespect for society based on political hatred or enmity, grossly violated public order."
• On the day the effigy was installed, Alexander Kotov was detained because he filmed the action on his phone. the next day after the action Shabarchin was detained . Shabarchin is also suspected of hanging an image of Putin on the city Christmas tree, under which unknown persons left leaky boxes with the inscriptions “VAT 20 percent” and “self-employment tax.”
• All three defendants in the case, Kotov, Vasiliev and Shabarchin, were searched, during which they confiscated their equipment, and Vasiliev also had his mother's phone number.
