Russia banned the export of all cereals

Since March 20, the Rosselkhoznadzor introduced restrictions on the export of all types of cereals for 10 days, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the letter of the deputy head of the department Julia Schwabauskene.

"The Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision from March 20, 2020 for a period of 10 days introduces a temporary ban on export of all types of cereal products to special instructions of the working group of the State Council of the Russian Federation to prevent the fees and dissemination of a new coronaviral infection in the Russian Federation"

The state council group is headed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

This is not the first restriction on export that the Russian authorities introduce in connection with coronavirus. In early March, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order according to which a ban on the removal of medical devices from Russia (for example, masks, plague costumes and gloves) is introduced .

• The restriction of the export of cereals may be due to the fact that with the beginning of the input of partial quarantine, the Russians began to massively buy non -smoked goods, retailers talk about a special demand for buckwheat.
• The export of cereals from Russia is relatively small. It is most noticeable by the rice (about 15%), and almost a third is not cereal, but crushed industrial raw materials. Buckwheat exported the order of the first percent of Russian production.
