Megafon opened sales of SIM cards online

MegaFon has launched the sale of SIM cards with self-registration on Tmall, the AliExpress Russia resource, and in its own online store with free delivery in 1 day. The company did this to minimize contact and allow consumers to avoid visiting stores during the coronavirus pandemic.

The buyer will be able to activate the SIM card independently through a mobile application. The offer is relevant for residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Krasnoyarsk, but the number of regions will expand, Megafon told Tayge.info.

“In order to buy a SIM card, it is no longer necessary to visit a communication salon or sign a contract by talking to a courier. We have expanded the number of online stores where you can buy a self-registration SIM card,” says MegaFon Commercial Director Vlad Volfson. “This is especially true now, when many are forced to stay at home, but at the same time it is important for everyone to be in touch with their loved ones. You can buy online both a smartphone and a SIM card for it, choose a convenient tariff in the application and immediately start using the operator’s services.”

MegaFon was the first Russian telecom operator to start selling on Tmall in November 2019.
