Authorities allowed Moscow residents with a mild form of coronavirus to be treated at home

The Moscow Department of Health has allowed city residents with a mild form of coronavirus to be treated at home. The corresponding order was published on the department’s website.

The new rules are valid from March 22 to March 30. Patients with coronavirus in a mild form can be treated at home: temperature below 38.5 ° C, breathing freely, normal respiratory rate and SpO2 level.

Patients with severe coronavirus infection, patients with ARVI, influenza and community-acquired pneumonia are subject to mandatory hospitalization. Pregnant women and patients over 65 years of age with chronic diseases of the bronchopulmonary, cardiovascular and endocrine systems will be hospitalized with any form of coronavirus. In addition, this measure will apply to those who live with people at risk, no matter what their health condition is.

The order notes that the doctor must warn the patient and relatives living with him about criminal liability for violating quarantine.

The State Duma proposed amending the Criminal Code and toughening penalties for violating sanitary and epidemiological rules. If this resulted in the death of two or more people, the perpetrators could face up to seven years in prison.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the real number of people with coronavirus is greater than the number of confirmed cases. He suggested that up to 500 people could be sick in the city.
