An environmental activist was detained in Moscow for trying to interfere with work on a green area

In Moscow, on Shushenskaya Street, a local resident and eco-activist Olga Kuzmina was detained, who tried to interfere with geological surveys in the form of drilling on a green area of ​​the street. Kuzmina herself reported this to OVD-Info.

The woman was taken to the Losinoostrovsky police department, and it is not yet known whether they will draw up a protocol against her or just take explanations. According to her, the policemen threatened her with an article on disobedience to the lawful demands of a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).

“In our country, illegal work is being carried out on a green area, which was given out for development. Accordingly, we filed a lawsuit, but they, without waiting for the court, came to conduct geological surveys, which, in principle, are prohibited in this territory. I demanded to stop illegal work and provide documents stating that this is a green area, but I was refused. Then I tried to go to the car to prevent it, and then the police took me away and put me in handcuffs in the car, ”Olga Kuzmina told OVD-Info.

According to her, in the building documents, the green area is listed as an ordinary wasteland, but this is not so. The eco-activist fears that green areas and trees will be damaged during the work and further development.

12:25 pm Kuzmina was released from the police department with a protocol on petty hooliganism (Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). She was fined 500 rubles. Now she is heading to the emergency room to remove the beatings, as a large bump has formed on her arm from the handcuffs.
