Kaliningrad: The court canceled the early release of the ex-head of the FSIN

The Kaliningrad Regional Court refused the parole by the former director of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia Alexander Reimer, the press service of the court said .

Earlier, the Central District Court granted the Reimer's request for early release, but the prosecutor's office appealed this decision. The department considered that the damage from the actions of the ex-head of the FSIN was not compensated.

Reimer headed the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia from 2009 to 2012. He was detained in March 2015. In 2017, the former head of the FSIN was sentenced to 8 years in a colony for the purchase of electronic bracelets at an inflated price. Dates of up to six years were also received by his deputy Nikolai Krivolapov and the director of the FSIN Center Victor Idenov.

The investigation considered that the damage from the actions of the Reimer amounted to more than 2 billion 700 million rubles. The court freed convicts from the payments of fines. The FSIN through the court demanded to recover compensation from the Reimer.

Reimer asked abouto twice. In 2019, he was refused this, in 2020, the Kaliningrad court granted his demand.
