The composer Kshishtof Penderetsky died

The Polish composer and conductor Kshishtof Penderetsky died. This was reported on Sunday by the Ministry of Culture of Poland. He was 86 years old. The composer died in Krakow.

Kshishtof Penderetsky was one of the most famous modern authors of classical music in the world. He gained fame back in the 1960s as a representative of the musical avant-garde. Among the most famous works are “Crying by the victims of Hiroshima”, “Passion for Luke” and other works on religious stories, “Polish Requiem”, the first fragment of which was written in memory of the victims of the performance of the Gdan dockers in 1970, he was dedicated to Lech Valenes and the union “Solidarity”.

Penderetsky’s music was used in films by such directors as Alain Rene (“I love you, I love”), Stanley Kubrick (“Shine”), David Lynch (“Inner Empire”), Andrzej Vaida (“Katyn”), as well as the series “Secret Materials”. Four times he was the winner of the Grammy Award.

It is reported that the composer died "after a long illness." After one of the codes was infected with coronavirus, the composer was also checked to the virus, but the test was negative, the daughter of Penderetsky told Reuters .
