How Koronavirus hit small business in the regions. Together with Syndicate-100

Even before the Russian regions began to go to the regime of total self-isolation after Moscow, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses took on the main financial blow of the pandemic: hairdressing, manicure salons, quest IGR studios and other representatives of the service sector. Despite the fact that the Russian government comes up with some compensation schemes to mitigate the consequences of the pandemic, businessmen do not hide their depressed mood. However, even in this situation, some entrepreneurs are looking for new development paths, at least for the future.

The regional publications, which are part of the Syndicate-100 journalistic association, collected stories about how small and medium-sized businesses are trying to survive the invasion of coronavirus. "New" publishes several of them.

- The situation is PATOV, we closed after the Decree came out (on March 26 in the Krasnodar Territory a decree came into force, according to which the establishments related to the mass stay of people must stop work, approx. “New” ). At present, we are not working, the rental situation is very difficult - they tell us that we must pay the full amount, or by installments, but the same money. Only where to get them then? In general, a strange situation. We have a large team and large costs. We have existed for 11 years and during this time has grown strongly, only recently we did repairs. Now it is not clear what to do-to close for good, or to borrow money and somehow it is all overlap.

We had a “pillow of safety”, but we spent it for repairs. From the previous place where we sat for five years, we had to urgently move. We found the room, made repairs there, invested money, so we have no this pillow. If you overlap it now, it is not clear where to get it from. Also, the economic situation has not been very good lately, and this was already felt in January-people spent money not on creativity and development, but on the closure of some basic needs, for the same food. Therefore, we have become fewer groups, and in general, people began to walk less.

I assume that the story with coronavirus, at least for a month, or even more. Plus, many have now lost their jobs - respectively, where do people get money for development? Now, of course, we thought very much about what to do next. We have large areas, it is all quite expensive to keep, and we do not understand where to get funds to block all expenses. Now we are thinking about an online site. I have all colleagues urgent and uniforms go online in order to somehow close accounts. I do not count on the help of the state. For all the time of our existence, we did not receive any subsidies. So I don't really believe in all this. But if some law appears, then I will be very surprised and happy. Now I definitely don’t count on it.

- It is quite difficult for me to answer how much demand has decreased, but there are fewer appeals and direct calls. Seven people work in our salon - five masters, including me, and administrators. To say that I am very tense now, it will not work. I have some financial pillow, so if things go the same or worse, then you can start directly worrying for a couple of months.

There is no pronounced panic. If quarantine is introduced, it is unlikely to be too strict, that is, there will be options that we can, for example, work on call. In the case of total quarantine, we can survive for a month in this mode, and then it will be necessary to navigate in fact. I look at the guys from Ukraine, where the salons and hairdressers have been closed for a week: they are still sitting and waiting. Nobody is closing our hairdressers yet, during a non -working week we will work in standard mode.

I have a certain anti -crisis plan and an option to reorganize a business - the idea to be converted into a training area. I understand that in connection with the crisis, a large number of new specialists will appear who will not have the opportunity to pay a lot-in Krasnodar it costs from 50-70 thousand rubles. You can put this bar a little lower.

There is a misconception that in a crisis people stop cutting or painting. In fact, they continue to do this, but begin to go to cheaper places. Perhaps you will have to change the order of working with customers - maybe a little cook the price.

- In early March, in my studio, the decline in orders went sharply. I collected the meeting: girls, something is bad. Everyone thought we were to blame. Then a panic went, people began to buy buckwheat, toilet paper. Girls came with the words: "I was reduced from work, I take off the gel polish and return later." And there were more and more of them: people removed the coating - and did not return.

A manicure is not an essential service, this is easiest to refuse, these are not foods, not a medicine. And we began to think what to do.

Then antiseptics and desecrations began to rise in price. We bought a solution “Optimax Prof” for 350 rubles, now we are offered it for 1,500 rubles. Liter aniseptics for ourselves-for 400 rubles, now for 1600. Four to five months we will live on old reserves. The supplier of antiseptics with glitors invited me to buy them at a wholesale price for 600 rubles. And they stood in my retail for 200 rubles! Now what, for a thousand to sell them? And who will buy?

Okay, survive these months. And what's next? The price tag grew up for everything because of the jump in the dollar and the euro. In general, all the materials have risen in price - we have everything European. We can look for options, buy Russian materials, but there is much less control, and security cannot be guaranteed. So far, the available materials will be enough for me for about six months. But the consumables must be changed all the time, they also greatly jumped in price. Masks, gloves - everything is expensive and in short supply.

This is Pat: there is no price to raise prices, and we are forced to spend on purchases 20-30% more. Every day the situation is getting worse.

As it was before: on weekends, the masters were recorded in two to three weeks in advance, there were no “windows”. And now - please, before Saturday there are many free places [for recording].

Clients call us with the question: “Are you closing? Putin said to close! " He said this, yes, but who will give us money for this? There are no orders about this about the postponement of the contributions of this, the accountant ordered to pay on time, by March 30. We do not fall under the “measures” of the president.

Scary. It seems that we, businessmen, were simply abandoned. For years we have developed what we have, and now there is a real risk to lose it. In previous years, I did not have all this, I did not feel much crisis. And now the whole company, people, I am responsible for them. Well, the tenant of the premises to meet us: he made a discount, this is very supported.

Neither the city hall nor the Small Business Support Fund in Revda (if he works at all) we communicated with us. We continue to work, there were no instructions to close, even if two or three notes per day, but at least we will earn bread.

I think the business will go through the filter now, someone will fall and will not rise.

- Now a difficult time is clear to everyone, different businesses have suffered. But the restaurant industry, if not the largest, is definitely included in the top 3. I communicate with my colleagues not only from Arkhangelsk, but also from other cities of Russia. The situation is simply catastrophic. In our business, the wage fund takes an average of about 30% in total costs.

And when the revenue of your projects falls somewhere by 80%, and somewhere by 90%, this is just a coma.

For understanding: in the restaurant complex Reka, 80-100 people usually came for breakfast, yesterday there were five. There is no official order yet (a temporary ban on work appeared on the evening of 03.27., after recording this comment - approx. "New" ), but at the same time it sounds: "Guys, do not go anywhere!" The story of “more than fifty is not going to gather” also sits in everyone in their heads.

In such conditions, many colleagues will not last two months - it depends on specific projects. I understand colleagues who are waiting for the announcement of force majeure. You can’t talk about it.

- I took up animals because I always dealt with them, it was a choice for a reason. I can find an approach to them. There is no need to be confused with love for animals, these are parallel things. Love is very important, but it will not make you a good specialist.

The biggest difficulty for me now is to explain to people, especially the elderly, why this strain “just flu” is dangerous to them. And why you need to transfer their cat haircut. I am serious, without jokes.

I, a groomer and a manageous person, had a long supply of masks and an antiseptic. This is logical. Mandatory wash of the hands, the presence of an antiseptic house, a sprayer of disinfectant oil, inhavirin (antiviral medicine, approx. "New" ) and water. I monitor the temperature twice a day. 36.4, if that.

Now I do not work, but I have a stock of money accumulated for two months so that I can eat and sleep. This money was just in time in case of emergency. But I often thought about a fracture, not a pandemic. It’s easier for me, I have no loans or debts. This is a fundamental position.

How quarantine will pass, I will immediately invest in advertising, this scheme has already been tested. An animal haircut is not my only superpower, I will learn anything else. If there is nothing after quarantine, things sales. And yes, I’m not expecting anything from the state at all. It seems to me that Putin’s promise to support small business is only in words. It will be the same as with salaries of nurses. In words, it turns out that they are rowing money with a shovel, and in fact they receive even less than before the government order.
