Ground floor level

An extremely important characteristic of a city building is the ground floor level. Keeping it at sidewalk level will provide maximum benefit to everyone.

— a transparent facade makes the street more spacious and much more interesting. You can observe life in the building while moving along the street. The city is perceived much more alive and dynamic;
— nothing sticks out along the façade line, the concepts of “ramp” and “stairs” disappear, freeing up valuable space on the sidewalk;
— you can walk very close to the building, looking at the shop windows and people in the cafe. People make spontaneous purchases much more often, this helps small businesses develop;
— the transparent facade illuminates the sidewalk at night;
— social control on the street increases — people look out for each other;
— maximum accessibility of the building for all groups of citizens;
- it’s beautiful, and the principle of a clean line is maintained on the sidewalk;

In Russian cities there are very few buildings without stairs, and in residential areas there are practically no such houses, which is why coffee shop owners often struggle when choosing a cozy room not in the center.

A building without steps makes the city more compact and people closer to each other. People like other people: they want to look at others, show themselves off, and generally be in society. There is not a single reason that prevents a building from being built at sidewalk level in Russian cities, with the exception of the Far North.
