A second administrative case was opened against the founder of Govorit Magadan

A second case was initiated against the founder of the Govorit Magadan portal on the dissemination of false information (part 9 of article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). This was reported on its telegram channel by Pravozashchita Otkrytki with reference to its coordinator Andrei Pryanishnikov.

An administrative case was initiated for the publication of the article “First results of the “modernization of health care” in Nosov’s way in Magadan: doctors of a children’s infectious diseases department buy protective suits in auto shops and sew masks for themselves.”

Pravozashchita Otkryka ​​also cites an excerpt from the case file: “This information is capable of causing panic among citizens during the global pandemic of coronavirus infection (...) which creates a threat of mass disruption of public order and public safety in the Magadan region.”

• On March 20, the police drew up the first protocol against the Govorit Magadan portal, due to an article about the death of a person, presumably from the coronavirus. Roskomnadzor sent a notification about the restriction of access to the resource.
• On March 31, the State Duma toughened punishment for abuse of freedom of the media (Article 13.15 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), and also introduced criminal liability for fake news that poses a threat to the life and safety of the population (Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code).
