Petersburg: The activist became a witness in the case of a fake about coronavirus

Anna Shushpanova, activist from St. Petersburg, received the status of a witness in the first case in Russia about the distribution of fakes about coronavirus. She wrote about this on her page on VKontakte.

According to her, the case was initiated under Article 207.1 of the Criminal Code - a knowingly false message about the actions that create the danger of the death of people, causing property damage or the occurrence of socially dangerous consequences.

During the search, she was seized a phone and laptop.

"The search was carried out without a court decision, in connection with circumstances that do not tolerate departments. The court for a search will most likely be on Monday, and most likely it is recognized as legal. They filed a petition for the speedy return of things and the presence of a search," she wrote.

Employees of the Investigative Committee came to Shushpanova on the evening of April 3. They searched her house as part of a criminal investigation on the spread of fake information about coronavirus. With such a fake, they calculated the post of Shushpanova in the Sestroretsky Assistance group, where she said that in the local clinic the patient allegedly found coronavirus with non -core symptoms, but he was sent home.

The Federation Council approved the law on criminal liability for the spread of fakes on coronavirus.

For the spread of knowingly false information about infection, a fine of 300 to 700 thousand rubles, correctional labor up to 1 year or restriction of freedom up to 3 years can be assigned.
