Residents of Siberia will be offered free consultations with doctors

The State Development Corporation VEB.RF and the telemedicine company Doctor Ryad announced the launch of a federal project to provide all residents of Russia with free telemedicine assistance. Russians now have the opportunity to seek remote consultations from doctors of various specialties on any issue, not limited to the topic of coronavirus infection. The project was created on the basis of the medical, technological and production capabilities of the Doctor next door with the organizational and financial support of the state corporation VEB.RF to increase the availability of medical care during a pandemic.

Our country, like the whole world, is faced with a difficult epidemiological situation: doctors work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and a general isolation regime has been introduced in many regions. The entire Russian healthcare system is now making titanic and very correct efforts to combat the emerging epidemiological threat. The launched project is designed to provide assistance in this difficult struggle. The most vulnerable populations, patients with chronic diseases, older people and families with young children continue to need medical care, including non-emergency situations. The project will allow Russians to receive full and timely interaction with doctors of various profiles despite the restrictions being introduced. Today, telemedicine is becoming not just convenient, but a vital solution for protecting the health of citizens.

There are several ways to get a remote consultation with doctors: using a mobile application or website in video format and through a dedicated telephone line. Therapists and pediatricians are available around the clock, to contact doctors of a narrow specialty, you can sign up for a convenient time in advance. Telemedicine for Russians will be free for at least a month with the possibility of extension depending on the development of the epidemiological situation in the country.

The goal of the project is to provide direct online interaction between Russians and doctors of key specialties in order to receive professional medical support. The format of remote consultations is especially relevant today, during the period of forced self-isolation due to the virus threat.

As it is implemented, we will connect other networks of clinics - Moscow and regional ones. We see a wide response in the professional community, highly qualified doctors from various regions want to take on part of the critical work to ensure access to medicine for the widest range of patients. We are ready to train doctors in technologies and the specifics of online communication in order to meet the growing demands for medical care for the residents of our country. I am sure that the experience of digital interaction will be useful to doctors and patients in the future, when the epidemiological situation in the country stabilizes. This is a very complex project, for the implementation of which we solved a number of important tasks, and not only ensured the participation of more doctors, but also significantly strengthened our IT infrastructure. We made sure that the Doctor Near platform is ready for a large-scale increase in workload and we urge Russians to start using the telemedicine service to solve health-related issues.
