Peskov bought a virus blocker. The effectiveness of the device is not proven

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that he began to use the viruses blocker during the Covid-19 epidemic. The device is a badge. Peskov appeared with him on the video of the President of Russia with the heads of regions on April 8. The representative of the Kremlin said that he bought a device in a pharmacy himself.

Life edition drew attention to the blocker. It published a photo with the name of the device - Air Doctor. According to the official description, the substances contained in the blocker after activation begin to interact with air and secrete chlorine dioxide. The manufacturer claims that then the device "kills a fungus, bacteria and viruses." Air doctor clinical tests are not yet.

In industry, chlorine dioxide is used in drinking water purification systems, as a whitening agent for the manufacture of paper and cellulose. Scientists and doctors argue that the substance can be toxic when inhaling, as well as provoke irritation of the mucous membranes and cause headache.

The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, in particular, separately notes that substances containing chlorine cannot be used for individual protection against the virus.
