Shuttlers Are not Dead. How two artists carried out art intervention in Ikeuu

We are used to the fact that international trade is the destiny of transnational corporations. But history knew examples when ordinary people took this global function. People with large checkered bags are bags, or shuttles. This movement originated in Europe after the First World War. Erich Maria Remarque immortalized the bags in his novel “Return”.

In Russia, shuttleness appeared in the late 1980s. Doctors and teachers, opera singers and nuclear chemists developed the economy of Eastern Europe, the countries of the former Soviet camp, China and Turkey. Famous checkered bags were filled with jeans-brows, sneakers, fur coats and other goods. They drove everything!

In some ways, the movement of shuttles is lively to this day.
