In Russia, another record for the number of registered cases per day: 1786 in 57 regions. During the day, 18 people died from the disease (since the beginning of the epidemic - 94), 97 recovered (total - 795). The Moscow mayor's office said that medical services are working to the limit , while Sergei Sobyanin emphasizes that the peak of the incidence in the city has not yet arrived. In Yamal, where an outbreak of COVID-19 was recorded, a Gazprom top manager is suspected of spreading the disease . In a quarantined hospital in Ufa, 170 people were diagnosed with COVID-19 .

In the world, the increase in the incidence has stabilized: for three days in a row, the number of new daily diagnoses has been at around 85,000. In the United States, the total number of cases is likely to exceed half a million in the coming hours. The number of deaths from the effects of coronavirus infection worldwide has exceeded one hundred thousand people.

Access control will be introduced in Moscow . Mayor of the city Sergei Sobyanin announced that this will be done gradually : at the first stage - for commuting, at the second - for trips for other purposes, at the third (if necessary) - for movement within the district. While the access system will be declarative in nature.

Other regions, on the contrary, soften bans . Measures originally introduced to combat the coronavirus have already been relaxed in one way or another in 56 out of 85 Russian regions . Most often, the governors expanded the lists of enterprises that can work in April, during the month of all-Russian holidays.

The Russian Orthodox Church recommended that parishioners stay at home for Easter . The leadership of the Church has sent instructions to the abbots of temples and monasteries: they are advised to urge the faithful to stay at home to pray. The heads of the dioceses have the opportunity to adjust the recommendations depending on the epidemiological situation.

The Kremlin came up with criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of governors in the fight against coronavirus . There are three main directions: the creation of a bed fund for patients, the development of money allocated by the government and the prevention of panic. Governors must also provide a backdrop of "positive media dominance" so that Vladimir Putin's ratings rise.

In Moscow, doctors working with patients with COVID-19 will be accommodated in hotels in the city center . The mayor's office agreed with the owners of 20 large hotels , including the Marriott Grand Hotel, National, Sheraton Palace, Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya. For doctors, accommodation, food and services will be free, the authorities will compensate hotels for the actual costs.

Russians have become much less likely to go outside . VTsIOM found that over the past two weeks, 80% of Russians have become less likely to leave their homes. 84% of the country's residents began to meet less often with friends, 69% with elderly relatives. Also, the majority stopped shaking hands or hugging when meeting .

Harvey Weinstein has recovered from the coronavirus . A 68-year-old producer serving a long prison term has been discharged from a medical isolation facility in a prison in the state of New York. His infection became known at the end of March.
