Six residents of the city of Sarapul died after being poisoned by an unknown chemical substance that they consumed as alcohol. This was reported by the Department of the Investigative Committee for Udmurtia.
The bodies of four people - two men and two women - were found in the apartment. Two more men were taken to the hospital, where they soon died. The substance they drank was sent for examination.
On the fact of the incident, a criminal case was initiated on causing death by negligence (Part 3 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code). A 52-year-old resident of Sarapul was detained, who is suspected of giving alcohol substitutes to the dead.
Investigators inspected the scene, seized canisters with the remains of the substance, questioned as a witness a local resident who also used this substance and sought medical help.
